Gillian Anderson Returns to Celebrate M&S’ Autumn Style
The campaign by Mother is with the next iteration of the Love That platform
03 September 2026
Gillian Anderson returns as M&S’s Chief Compliments Officer for the brand’s autumn campaign, the third installment of ‘Love That’ which has helped propel M&S to number 1 for style.
Created by Mother, the autumn edition celebrates the shared love of style amongst women, highlighting the joy that compliments bring.
The hero film was shot in the National Art Library at the V&A, where Gillian is seen researching the art of giving compliments. Surrounded by stories of style, influence and inspiration, she finds herself distracted by the effortlessly stylish women around her. One compliment sparks another, creating a chain reaction of appreciation that travels through the room.
The campaign celebrates the simple power of noticing something you love and saying, ‘Love That.’
Directed by rubberband through SMUGGLER, the film is set to "Let Me Think About It” by Ida Corr vs. Fedde Le Grand and debuts looks from the autumn collection, 68% of which is priced under £50.
Sharry Cramond, Marketing Director, Fashion, Home & Beauty at Marks & Spencer commented: "After celebrating a summer of ‘Love That’, we’re excited to keep building that momentum into Autumn, the single biggest style moment of the year. It is the season all about the pieces that catch your eye, spark a compliment and inspire you to share the look with someone else. Fashion has always been a powerful way to connect, and our ‘Love That’ platform celebrates those moments of admiration, recommendation and inspiration that happen every day.”
Hollie Walker, Executive Creative Director at Mother London added: “There’s a very specific kind of joy in being complimented on a fresh look. It’s a tiny victory but one that can be repeated over and over again. We wanted to capture that feeling and bring ‘Love That’ to life as M&S’ celebration of the clothes we can’t help but covet.”
The campaign goes live today across Cinema, TV, OOH and social content across the M&S channels. The brand is also utilising LinkedIn as a tactical channel, where Gillian posts content as M&S’ Chief Compliments Officer.
