Today, Boots launches its 2026 Christmas campaign, “For Gifts They’ll Really Love”, a bold new film designed to make the nation smile and celebrate the joy of finding gifts that will be cherished for months to come.
As the UK’s leading beauty, health and wellness retailer, Boots puts the spotlight on gifts that don’t just bring a smile to faces on Christmas Day, but become much-loved essentials that recipients can’t get enough of well into the New Year. With a playful, tongue-in-cheek take on gifting, the creative marks the next chapter of the new “Give it Some Boots” brand platform.
Opening on Christmas morning, the film captures the excitement as family and friends unwrap some of the season’s most coveted beauty, wellness and electrical beauty gifts. But Christmas Day is only the beginning. Fast-forward through the year and the gifts have become full-blown obsessions. Viewers see a mum who wears her LED Light Therapy Mask everywhere, whether taking the bins out or posing for a family portrait. In another scene, a woman is so devoted to her hair styler that she reaches for it midway through a romantic dinner date.
The campaign is a playful exaggeration of a familiar truth - the best gifts don’t end at Christmas, they become part of the everyday. It positions Boots as a destination for gifts people will use and love long after the festive decorations come down.
The film showcases some of the season’s most-wanted brands and must-have gifts, set to top Christmas wish lists across the UK, including the Shark Cryoglow LED Face Mask, Dyson Airwrap, Jo Malone London English Pear & Freesia fragrance, No7 Future Renew Collection, YSL Rouge Pur Couture and Oral B io9 Electric Toothbrush. The campaign reinforces Boots as a go-to destination for existing customers, while inspiring a new generation of beauty consumers to discover the breadth of brands, products and gifts for every budget available in store and on boots.com.
Charlotte Lock, Chief Marketing Officer at Boots, said: “Boots has long played a special role in Christmas gifting, but we want to keep surprising people and give them new reasons to choose us. We want to redefine what people expect from Boots at Christmas and be the destination for the gifts people genuinely want to receive, with incredible brands, brilliant choice and exceptional value whatever your budget. The best gifting is about really knowing someone. When we get it right, the excitement lasts far beyond Christmas morning – it becomes the gift they use constantly, talk about and wonder how they ever lived without.
“Our new ‘Give it Some Boots’ brand platform is about showing up with more confidence, energy and personality. It’s a bolder and more contemporary expression of Boots, designed to make everything we do feel distinctive, memorable and unmistakably ours.”
Directed by Phoebe Arstein at Biscuit Filmworks, the advert pairs humour with familiar Christmas moments to bring the campaign to life. It is accompanied by an unexpected, modern reimagining of the classic carol, ‘Shepherd of the Bells’, giving the film a fresh and distinctive feel.
Simon Lloyd, Deputy Chief Creative Officer EMEA at VML, added, “Christmas gave us the biggest possible stage to show what the new ‘Give it Some Boots’ platform really means. Instead of following the conventions of Christmas advertising, we wanted to turn up the things that only Boots can really own – incredible beauty products, the thrill of discovery and the very human obsession that happens when you find something you absolutely love, all with our fresh energy, style and attitude. This allowed us to be braver, from the comedic script down to the deliberate music choice. This isn’t simply a new Christmas campaign; it’s the next statement of intent for Boots and the kind of work we want Boots to become known for.”
Shot in the UK, the advert will air for the first time on 4 November on Boots digital media channels, the launch features a 60-second film TVC alongside the retailer’s first-ever 20-second TVC edits, anchored by a multi-channel TV roadblock on 6 November, reaching 6 million people over launch weekend.
Great Christmas offers will feature as a key part of the campaign with 18 dedicated TV edits showcasing the exceptional value available at Boots in the run up to Christmas. Customers can enjoy an extensive range of Star Gifts, with many at lower than half price, more than 1,200 gifts available in the iconic 3 for 2 offer, and inspiring gifts for every budget spanning exciting new brands, including Olaplex, Charlotte Tilbury and Jo Malone London, alongside much-loved customer favourites such as No7.
Across the AV ecosystem, the campaign will generate over 300 million views, reaching 90% of ABC1 women, and includes a Boots-first Netflix takeover spanning across both the launch period and Black Friday.
Across social, platform-first executions will turn gifting and discovery into entertainment, including Snapchat’s “12 Days of ChristMAPS” via SNAP Promoted Places, a high-visibility TikTok Top Search presence, and curated Reddit Gift Guides. In a media-tech first for Boots, it will also be harnessing real-time footfall intelligence to power an integrated cross-channel digital campaign, dynamically using media investment to drive store visits.
Reaching consumers in real life, an expansive out-of-home activity will deliver 72.7 million impacts nationwide near retail destinations, including a bespoke special build at Westfield White City, and branded taxi wraps hitting streets across the country. London Underground and National Rail placements will run in the New Year, as health and wellbeing comes back into focus.
The new campaign has been developed by the integrated WPP team supporting Boots, bringing together creative, media and production expertise to create a targeted 360 integrated plan, powered by data-driven insights and captivating storytelling.
