Financial Times Showcases The Value Of Trusted Journalism
The campaign, The Pink Room, by New Commercial Arts, is part of the brand's For The Why platform
11 September 2026
The Financial Times has launched a new global campaign as part of the brand’s For The Why platform. Created by New Commercial Arts, the through-the-line campaign features high-impact OOH placements and a social-first video series dubbed ‘The Pink Room’, showcasing the value of human expertise and trusted journalism in an age of information disorder.
Running across high-impact OOH sites in London and New York, the outdoor creative uses the striking and agile structure of the For The Why platform to demonstrate the FT’s unique ability in providing critical analysis through robust and unbiased reporting. It also emphases the surprising and curious stories, beyond politics and economics that the publication helps audiences understand in-depth.
Executions range from the unexpected side-effects of soaring Ozempic use on supermarket sales, Pope Leo delivering sermons in the corridors of power, the impending end of US shopping malls and the proliferation of data centres in suburban backyards.
To support the OOH, New Commercial Arts has also developed ‘The Pink Room’, a new social-first video series running across the US, UK, EMEA, and APAC that profiles some of the FT’s most trusted journalists, including Claer Barrett (Personal Finance), Madhumita Murgia (AI Editor), John Burn-Murdoch (Chief Data Reporter), and Lucy Fisher (UK Politics).
The work launches today to support the publisher's H2 campaign. It aims to drive new reader acquisition globally by showing that the FT is the ultimate destination for understanding the forces shaping modern society.
Fiona Spooner, Managing Director, Consumer Subscriptions & Marketing at the Financial Times: "For The Why demonstrates the unique and important value of FT journalism in a world of competing narratives, contested truths and constant noise. The Pink Room in particular brings audiences closer to the world-class expertise, insight and perspective that helps them understand not just what is happening but also why it matters.”
Ian Heartfield, Creative Founder, New Commercial Arts: "What the FT does so brilliantly is it helps readers unpack the complexities of the modern world, reaching far beyond business and politics. The agility of ‘For The Why’ allows us to react to almost every cultural or political conversation, and prove the sheer breadth of the FT’s expert journalism across almost any subject.”
