Audible Transforms King's Cross Station Into The Storyline
Developed by WPP Media's Wavemaker, the campaign appears across station vinyls, digital screens and themed tannoy announcements
02 September 2026
Audible is transforming one of London’s busiest Tube stations, taking over King’s Cross St Pancras tube station on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 September as part of its global brand campaign, Stories that Speak to You.
The activation uses the commute itself as the creative canvas. The activation brings Audible into the language of travel through The Story Line, a fictional Tube-style line created specifically for the campaign with stops themed with Audible titles and genres like Strangers Cross, Last Chancery Lane, Reunion Bridge, and more.
The campaign appears across station vinyls, digital screens and themed tannoy announcements running three times per hour, highlighting how stories can transport travellers from the Underground to their imaginations. This activity marks a media-first for the transport network, with the brand creating its own fictional Tube-style line and themed stops woven together within a map.
The station activity will be supported by a tfl.gov.uk homepage takeover and co-branded social activity from TfL and Audible, extending the idea beyond King’s Cross and into digital commuter touchpoints.
Wavemaker UK, a WPP Media Brand, handled media strategy, planning and project management.
By combining transport-inspired creative, contextual media and in-station audio, Audible is bringing its campaign idea into the real-world moments where audio storytelling is most relevant, while showing how the brand can make the commute feel more engaging, personal and entertaining.
